FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 21, 2024) – Sanibel Captiva Community Bank was recently recognized as The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools’ 2024 Business Partner of the Year at the 33rd annual Partners in Education/State of Our Schools Breakfast at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. The annual event honors the district’s business and community partners, highlights foundation initiatives and features an update from the superintendent on the state of district schools.
“We are incredibly honored to be recognized as Business Partner of the Year by The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools. This recognition is a testament to the dedication our entire team has to our community,” said Kyle DeCicco, president and CEO of Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. “As a community bank, we see the need for investing in the education of our youth, and we are proud to support organizations and initiatives that help students achieve their full potential. We look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting the growth and success of our local schools.”
In January 2023, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank’s $275,000 donation was the largest, single donation to Fort Myers High School’s Fund the Field Project. The funds allowed the school to break ground on a million-dollar stadium renovation that included a synthetic turf field and rubberized track. The project improves the stadium benefiting Fort Myers High School students, athletes and numerous other school athletic programs and events that utilize the stadium facilities.
The new synthetic turf field was constructed and completed in August 2023, in time for the school to host the 64th annual Edison Relays in March. The event included all Lee County high schools and over 25 teams overall.
In addition to its relationship with Fort Myers High School, the bank also partners with other public and private schools as well as youth programs to teach financial literacy to help young people understand and improve their financial knowledge. Additionally, the bank supports over 35 other Lee County public and private schools through financial donations and volunteerism.
