FORT MYERS, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2024) – Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has opened its second Sanibel location on the east end of the island at 1019 Periwinkle Way. Located two buildings down from its former branch at 1037 Periwinkle Way, the bank purchased the John R. Wood building in 2021 for a larger second island location.
In September 2022, construction was completed on the building but then sustained considerable damage during Hurricane Ian. The property had to undergo complete reconstruction after the storm. Since September 2023, the current occupant John R. Wood Properties has been operating out of part of the 5,200-square-foot building. The bank is also leasing office space to Coastal Title Services of Southwest Florida, which will occupy 850 square feet in the rear of the building.
Benchmark Construction renovated the new location, which features a drive-thru, electric car charging station, safety deposit boxes, a small conference room with video conferencing capabilities. The new location will eventually include a drive-up ATM.
“We are so excited to finally have our new east end location on Sanibel open. Our customers have come to depend on that location over the years as they travel off and on the island,” said Kyle DeCicco, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank president and CEO. “All of us, especially our 1019 Periwinkle Way staff, are excited to get back into a new and improved office, regain some more normalcy and offer our customers a second, convenient location on the island.”
