FORT MYERS, Fla. (June 21, 2023) – Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has donated $5,000 to the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Kiwanis Club scholarship program. The club is awarding 20 scholarships, totaling close to $50,000, to Sanibel and Captiva youth. Eight of the scholarships are multi-year and 12 are one-year scholarships.
Scholarship funds typically raised by the club’s annual golf tournament, spaghetti dinners and coupon book fundraisers were not possible due to Hurricane Ian. Through generous donations from local businesses and individuals, the club was successfully able to fund its 2023 scholarship program.
“We’ve supported the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Kiwanis Club since we opened our doors in 2003,” said Kyle DeCicco, president and CEO of Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. “It’s important to us that we continue to stand by SanCap Kiwanis in their effort to help island kids with their post-secondary education.”
Since 1973, the Sanibel & Captiva Islands Kiwanis Club has been an energetic service club of members who serve the islands’ children. Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child, and one community at a time. For more information visit www.sanibelkiwanis.org.
