Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties Inc. The partnership includes a $20,000 donation and the dedication of 30 employees who helped build a home for a family in Fort Myers in late August. Bank employees volunteered together on a Saturday to raise the exterior walls on one of 67 Habitat homes being built in Lee and Hendry counties this year.
“We’re honored and proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity to help complete a home for a Southwest Florida family in need of safe, reliable housing,” Sanibel Captiva Community Bank President and CEO Craig Albert said. “The opportunity to have an affordable home can make all the difference to a family. With this build, we have the privilege of helping Habitat make that a reality for a local family.”
Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in Georgia. The housing organization has grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in local communities across all 50 states and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of support partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
