Chartered on Sanibel Island in 2003, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank began as a small,locally owned and operated community bank primarily serving the residents and businesses of Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We opened our doors with loans and deposits totaling $48 million dollars and $30 million in assets.
Fast forward to 2026, SanCap Bank now has nine locations, total assets of $1 billion and over 100 employees. In the last several years we’ve experienced explosive growth with seven branches off island in Lee County.

The bank employs more than 120 employees, and more than 60% are current shareholders. Since 2003, the bank has contributed well over $5 million to over 400 local, charitable causes and employees volunteer close to 1,000 hours annually.
